About Us

The Family Violence Program opened in 1987, and at that time served victims of domestic violence with shelter, hotline advocacy, counseling, transportation and groups.  In 2000, the program technically began serving victims of sexual assault as well, and added hospital accompaniment to that range of services.  Since then, the program has grown, and we now have a full-time Court Advocate who works in both courts, and most recently, through VOCA (Victims of Crime Assistance funding), have been able to add one more full-time person to the shelter during the day, and a Program Manager, who assists the Program Director with various duties.

Program Services:  Shelter for those in dangerous and abusive situations, Crisis hotline, Court Advocacy (Assistance with filing for Orders of Protection and Court Accompaniment), Transportation to work and appointments (shelter clients only), Support Group, Individual Advocacy, Information and Referrals, and Community Education.
